Marine Education

Bio

Chris grew up in Chicago and began his marine science career by visiting the Shedd Aquarium as often as he could and reading every book he could find about sharks. His interest in sharks and dislike of cold, snowy winters led him to attend Eckerd College in St. Petersburg Florida. When not spending time at the beach he obtained his B.S. in marine science, published a thesis on how bonnethead shark populations were organized along the west coast of Florida, and led hands on shark dissections at a local middle school. Before joining the DHP team he worked for his home town public works department in the forestry division. As a marine educator he enjoys every opportunity to provide his students with hands on learning and he relishes every chance he gets to teach aboard the R/V Alabama Discovery. In addition to teaching, he helps to ensure that the DHP ROV fleet stays fully functional. When not teaching he enjoys running, rock climbing, and all manner of outdoor sports.  - See more at: http://www.disl.org/faculty-staff/member/cflight#sthash.wkzwmEGJ.dpuf
