Discovery Day - April 8, 2017

Discovery Day is the Dauphin Island Sea Lab's open house for the public. Once a year, the public is given a tour of our research facilities to learn about our coastal environment and the research our team is working on. Visitors will learn about the coastal ecosystem we live in and why it's important to conserve our precious and unique environment. You will also be able to tour the Research Vessel Alabama Discovery.

Hours and Admission

Discovery Day is from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Admission is free to all exhibits outside of the Estuarium. Adults will pay a reduced admission to the Estuarium. Children receive free admission to the Estuarium.

Exhibits

Discovery Day focuses on giving a hands-on experience to learning about our coastal environment. Exhibits include and are not limited to touch tables, marine-themed games, and arts and crafts. Smokey the Bear, the Azalea Trail Maids and a number of community agencies will also take part.
