Battle of the Underwater Robots

April 17-19, 2015

It was an aquatic battle for the ages as 12 middle school and high school teams competed for the best ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles) in Mobile, Alabama this past weekend (April 17-19).
For the past several months, the teams have worked to design, build and test their own ROV. This weekend, they put their ROVs to the test in a series of missions that determined their ability to maneuver, identify and retrieve items from the "ocean" (simulated by an Olympic-size swimming pool).
